Bodybuilding is a lot more than just lifting up some heavy weights. Good weight lifting workout routines consists of several different aspects. If you want to build yourself a nice body, your weight lifting workout routines need to have proper nutrition, daily cardio workouts, plenty of water throughout the day, nutrition, and a good amount of rest between each of your workout days.
The goal is to train your body from the inside out, and this takes time. Two of the most common reasons people fail to stick with any exercise program, whether weight lifting, running, or yoga, is that they try to do too much too fast, and/or they expect too much too soon.
Make sure you make a plan of muscle building workouts that can work for more than one muscle at a time. You should select the weight lifting workouts which require the movements of two or more joints at a time. These are called compound exercises. These types of weight training programs require the use of large amount of muscle fibers and hence these stimulate the muscle growth.
Weight training basically involves lifting heavier weights than your body is used to lifting. This causes the muscle fibers to tear, and then repair themselves so that they are stronger than before. The more your body works, the more it is capable of doing, so you must increase the weights gradually to ensure that you continue to improve. It is important to start off gently- trying to lift too much weight too soon can cause injury.
The exercises may be done too quickly, or maybe I'm cheating in my training, or maybe there isn't enough weight on the barbell. When performing Static Contraction Training, your objective is to statically (without motion) hold the maximum amount of weight you can in your strongest range of motion for 5-10 seconds.
In order to build muscle mass you must first stimulate muscle growth with intense weight lifting workouts. After you have given your body a reason to grow, you must then focus your attention on fueling muscle growth. Just like your car, your body will not function properly without the right fuel (nutrients). After you have put in the hard work to stimulate and fuel muscle growth, you must give your body a chance to actually grow.
If you goals are to burn fat and lose weight, your weight lifting workouts need to be structured a bit differently than the typical bodybuilding training routines. When I work with clients who are serious about burning fat as quickly as possible, I almost always design their weight lifting workouts in the form of free weight circuits.
While a long workout will enhance your body's catabolic activity, your focus in the gym should be to shorten your weight lifting workout and provide your body with cardio benefits while pumping your muscles too. An intense weight lifting workout in the gym will help you shorten your time in the gym and give your muscles the strain they need to grow. Always push yourself as hard as you can and maintain a steely level of focus without doing any damage to your body.
